COUNCIL CAMPOREE 2012
Beginning another 100 Years of Scouting!
November 9-11, 2012 at Texas Motor Speedway
All Boy Scout Troops, Varsity Teams, Venturing Crews, Explorer Posts, and Cub
Scout Packs are invited!
Don’t miss the fun and excitement of the 2012 Council Camporee, which will be held NOVEMBER 9-11, 2012 at Texas Motor Speedway. With more than 8,000 attendees expected, this special event looks to be the largest en-masse campout in the history of the Longhorn Council.
Our program will be jam-packed with challenging activities, super shows, and awesome exhibits; so start planning now to enjoy this most excellent adventure.
To ensure proper leadership for the youth, registration will be UNIT-based rather than individual-based. Register only those who are firmly committed to attend because the event will be held “rain or shine”; and NO refunds will be issued, except for major medical reasons. (Refund requests must be made in writing and submitted to the Camporee Chairman within two days of the close of the event.)
Everyone who attends Camporee must register for the event; and all attendees will be issued an appropriately colored wristband, which must be worn at all times. For safety reasons, unregistered people will not be permitted on the premises.
Tiger Cubs and Cub Scouts will camp, according to Pack Family Camping regulations, in the Cub Scout area. Webelos den members may camp with the Cub Scouts or with a Boy Scout troop—but only if prearranged by the host troop.
Visitors will be welcome to attend Camporee; but they should be hosted by a scout unit and on its roster. They must also pay the appropriate fees, follow Camporee policies, and conduct themselves in a manner consistent with BSA guidelines.
If you would like to serve on Camporee staff, please email a staff application to John Park at [email protected]
